I have sincerely neglected my writing.
But now, due to a series of somewhat unfortunate events, I have begun to write again; and with more ferocity. Hopefully this time, I won't abandon my 'saving grace' for as long. Beginning in January, I will be 3 months towards the end of my degree. After 4 1/2 years of hard work, sleepless nights, tears, nightmares, and the best times of my life, college will be coming to an end. Well at least for now...
With this long winter break, I commenced in re-evaluating myself; my attitude, my motivation, my direction. I found that none of these were where they should be: my attitude turned into a poorly supported arabesque, my motivation became twisted in upon itself looking for the weak spots, and my direction ended up wandering through the darkest woods only to come out ass-backwards. Now I can gain my support system again: my books, my writing, and myself. I am turning things around just in the nick of time to graduate.
Back to the task at hand, I have finished three more books this past term, and am extremely close to finishing Everything is Illuminated. This book has honestly surprised me. There is heartfelt story constructing a life-changing story, built around stories within stories of history and love and heartbreak and war and religion. I have laughed with it, blushed at it, and upon its close, I will probably cry because of it. No good can come of it... But I will enjoy it all.
