Light My Fire

As I'm sitting here listening to The Doors "Light My Fire," I'm realizing that I have not written here in a while... And that is not good. Don't ask why the one made me think of the other, but it did, so here I am.

I am looking at all of the books in the world, and I'm thinking to hell with that stupid list. Why should I limit myself to a list? I mean there are so many new books that are on not on the list because it was put together before they were released (obviously). So I am saying F--- that to my original plan. There is no doubt that I will plan to read those books regardless, but I am going to read whatever I am wanting to. Take that for being a rebel....

Whilst (I love that word, by the way) I am reading Catch-22, I have started reading Everything is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer. Amazing thus far; and wonderfully hilarious. A text worth exploring for anyone ever been on, or going to go on a soul-bearing, love-enticing, anger-involved life journey. I am currently distracted from reading by my own mind. And for living in a state of disarray in my house. Mess, no, clutter drives me absolutely nuts. It halts my thinking, my creativity, my drive for all things intellectual - all I can see is CRAP. All I want to do is clean it.

It's never that easy now is it?

I just need to get my act together and start getting it organized. And for that I need pay day to get here, the sooner the better. Period. I just need to get my desk cleared off so I can function in a state where I have a "desk" rather than a covered-in-crap "desk." I am so close, but you know, I say this and it may never happen. Funny how that works.

I guess, point being, someone needs to light a fire under my ass to get me back on track.
However for now, I offer my thoughts on my two books.

Catch-22
-Yossarian is nuts.
-The way he edits letters is hilariously crazy.
-The actual catch-22 in the book is slightly how the actual military works (funny, huh?)

Everything is Illuminated
-Alex's dialect and usage of the English is beyond funny - I got some pretty odd looks from the fellow bus riders for laughing loudly
-Jewish people are still not particularly popular in the Ukraine
-Sometimes the funniest things happen in real life

"My grandmother died two years yore of cancer in her brain, and Grandfather became very melancholy, and also, says he is blind. Father does not believe him but purchased Sammy Davis, Junior, Junior for him nonetheless, because a Seeing Eye bitch is not only for blind people but for people who pine for the negative of loneliness."
